In November 2023, two honorary doctorates were conferred upon me, with the ceremonies scheduled for the same day, marking a profoundly humbling milestone in my journey.

Because I couldn’t attend the event at Hill City University in Benin Republic, their representatives graciously visited our Lagos office on an earlier day to present the Doctor of Arts (Honoris Causa). This honor celebrated my dedication to the arts and using storytelling as a tool for change. Receiving it in that intimate setting filled the day with warmth and set a tone of deep gratitude.

On the day of the ceremonies, I traveled to Ibadan for Precious Cornerstone University in Oyo State, where I was awarded the Doctor of Creative Writing (Honoris Causa). This recognition highlighted my contributions to creative expression through content that tackles real societal issues. Being there in person, surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, and hearing the university’s kind words, made the moment even more unforgettable.
These doctorates go beyond titles; they affirm the impact of creativity, humor, and advocacy in inspiring positive change. They remind me of our shared responsibility to keep using our voices for good.
I’m forever grateful to Hill City University and Precious Cornerstone University for this incredible recognition, to my team and family for their unwavering support, and to all of you who’ve been part of this journey from the start.
